Every time I speak with folks from the Office of Disaster Response at the Diocese, St. George's is always mentioned as a parish that steps up, sends volunteers, feeds the hungry. God smiles on the outreach of our parish! In addition to the work days with ODR that Allen Blow sets up, read the message below from Pete Nunnally, Mission and Volunteer Coordinator for ODR.
I’d like to introduce a new program from the Office of Disaster Response called “EDOLA Saturdays.” Parishioners from all churches are invited to come and volunteer for a Saturday and experience a program that in essence, belongs to all members of the Diocese, as well as to those we serve. This is a program in which each member of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana can take pride and ownership through participation and support. We invite all who would like to join us on a Saturday to come help rebuild the lives and homes of a part of the Body of Christ that is still suffering from the devastating effects of Katrina.
