St. George's Takes Its First Step in Going Green

Green Light New Orleans came to the church and replaced all of our incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFL). By doing that, it is estimated that we will save over the lifetime of the bulbs (seven years) 13396 KWH in electricity (approximately $1,564) and reduce CO2 production by 15,198 pounds.

Green Light New Orleans is an organization that provides to low and middle income families free compact fluorescent light bulbs. Check them out at www.greenlightneworleans.org. It is a simple and free way to fight global warming and reduce your utility bills.
